Job Title: Calibration Technician
Location: Chatsworth, Onsite
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Optional Overtime)
Salary: $30-50 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
Founded in 1978, Micro Quality Calibration (MQC) is one of the largest privately owned metrology labs on the West Coast, serving aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and other precision-driven industries. Operating in a new 22,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility, MQC is trusted by thousands of companies nationwide. Calibration is performed to NIST-traceable standards with A2LA accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL requirements. We are known for our quality and speed, offering a 5-business-day turnaround.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician to perform calibration, adjustment, and maintenance of precision measurement instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities:
- Perform calibration of measurement standards and customer equipment
- Generate accurate calibration data and detailed reports
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust instruments as required
- Maintain proper documentation in compliance with quality standards
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and laboratory best practices
- Ensure all calibrations are performed in accordance with NIST-traceable standards
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven working Calibration experience required
- Manual instrumentation calibration experience required
- Military PMEL/TMDE/DOD training and familiarity with ISO 17025 standards preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to meet deadlines effectively.
- Ability to sit/ stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. for potential onsite customer visits
- Valid driver’s license, clean record, and U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.
